This is part of the childrens wading pool at the Newcastle Ocean Baths. It was taken around sunset. I like the resulting effect on the waves of the long exposure - the soft effect of the ater creates a mysterious feel. I also like that you can see 3 ships out on the horizon (waiting to come into the harbour).
This week was a great learning week. I have always wanted to try long exposure and haven’t had the confidence to try. I took quite a few photos - at the beach and from the roof of a building trying to capture the lights of the harbour - I think I was mostly successful. I practiced using variations of aperture, iso and, of course, shutter speed. I also used a neutral density filter for the first time. This week has been a good experience! I’m going to try this again.
